Summer: 20 February to 27 March (6 concerts)
Winter: 15 May to 19 June (6 concerts)
Spring: 28 August to 23 October, excluding 16 October (8 concerts)
All concerts take place on Thursday nights at 7.30 pm at the Durban City Hall.
They are preceded by a pre-concert lecture in the Alhambra Room at the Playhouse Theatre at 6.15 pm on the evening of the concert.

The orchestra’s regular symphony concerts provide the ideal environment to entertain clients or reward top performers. Make a block booking at reduced rates and tailor your special evening to include pre- or post-concert drinks or functions. One can also book a group subscription for similar purposes throughout the season.
The final rehearsals for the Summer Symphony Season concerts are open to the public and provide a glimpse into the preparation for a symphony concert. Join us each Symphony Season Thursday at 10am in the Durban City Hall. Entrance for adults is R30, which includes a cup of tea. Just R10 for learners.
The final rehearsal is the perfect opportunity to introduce learners to symphony concerts and also provides great outings for community groups and retirement homes. Please contact the KZN Philharmonic bookings office to enquire about special rates and to make arrangements for groups.

Pre-concert talks take place at the Playhouse Alhambra Room (situated across the road from the City Hall). An entry fee of R10 contributes towards the running costs of the event. Refreshments will be available for purchase in the foyer of the Playhouse at Fanatix Cafe or in the foyer of the City Hall before and after the talk.

From 6.30 – 7.15 pm, prior to the concerts on 20 February, 20 and 27 March, come and be entertained by the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Wind Band on the steps of the City Hall. A wonderful welcome to the concert that follows in the City Hall!
Thirty security guards patrol the streets surrounding the City Hall, including the nearby parking garages, to ensure a safe and secure precinct for concertgoers. Parking in the Royal Hotel Parkade costs R10 for the evening. Payment can be made on arrival at the 4th floor offices of Sparks Parking to reduce delays in paying after the concert.
Subscribe and you will save
Buy a season ticket to attend all six concerts and you pay for less than five concerts. As a subscriber the season will cost you between R435 and R945 depending on where you choose to sit. Students pay only R225. All you have to do to qualify as a KZN Philharmonic subscriber is buy a ticket to each of the six concerts within the Season.
